Running until Sunday, the five-day industry gathering will see more than 1,000 events happening across nearly 200 locations, with a programme spanning parties, workshops, a conference and more. Here are our highlights.

The Amsterdam Dance Event has completed the schedule for its 2022 edition with the additions of Avalon Emerson (US), Chuckie (NL), Cata.Pirata (ZA), DJ Marcelle (NL), Hyperaktivist (VE), Kölsch (DK), Lion Kojo (NL), Mama Snake (DK), Nicky Romero (NL), Oish (NL), Peggy Gou (KR), Skin on Skin (SD), Tijana T (RS), and many others. The world’s largest club event and most significant electronic music conference begin in one week, making Amsterdam the center of the international electronic music scene for five days and nights.

Recently confirmed events include the A’DAM Toren lineup with over 25 events in a single building, an indoor ADE edition of Milkshake Festival, as well as events at Koepelkerk, OT301 and new venues including The Other Side and Yellow House. On Sunday, ADE 2022 will come to an end with events like the open-to-all ADE Hangover at the NDSM dock.

The Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE), a music conference and festival, is widely regarded as the center of the electronic music creative community. ADE features a daytime conference, an arts and cultural program, and a nightly celebration with over 1000 events spread across around 200 venues. Electronic music permeates Amsterdam for five days and nights.

The Amsterdam Dance Event Arts & Culture daytime program
The ADE Arts & Culture daytime program, which runs concurrently with the festival, is back for a second time. Exploring the crossovers between art and electronic music, the program will also highlight mental health and well-being, with events such as the mindful art experience Mark to the Music with DJ Marcelle at Museum van de Geest, and the serene installation Where There Is Light at Westerkerk. Other noteworthy events include the Re:master Dance Opera, the multidisciplinary performance Within Without II at Carré Royal Theater, the electronic dance museum Our House, as well as a variety of film programs at Melkweg Cinema, LAB111, De School, and other venues. Nxt Museum and Transmoderna also present three nights of audiovisual dance culture.

ADE Lab 2022
This year also marks the launch of the new ADE Lab program, a talent development program focused on aspiring producers and professionals, with key players in the industry taking part in masterclasses, Q&As and studio sessions including Alberta Balsam, B Jones, Carl Cox, Ellen Allien, KINK, Kyle Dixon & Michael Stein (Composers Stranger Things), Nicky Romero, Peggy Gou, Portrait XO, Reinier Zonneveld, Richie Hawtin, San Holo, SHERELLE, Tom Trago, and others. Additionally, visitors can learn insider information from international websites like TikTok, Spotify, YouTube, Armada Music, ID&T, KNTXT, and Spinnin’ Records.

The Conference and ADE Pro
The ADE Pro conference is centered on the business of electronic music, the industry’s future, and the world of electronic music. With these core focus tracks, the conference hosts in-depth keynotes and discussions with industry leaders at Warner Music, Coachella, Q-dance, Death Row Records, Billboard, FUGA, Lightyear, YouTube, Meta, Soundcloud, shesaid.so and more.The conference will also host a series of futuristic initiatives as part of ADE’s focus on the future of live events and the impact of innovative tech such as AI, big data, web3 and the Metaverse, with ADE Blendrealities, transforming home base Felix Meritis into a hybrid VR space. Mental health, inclusivity, and social change are some of the other important subjects and themes that will be tackled at ADE Pro, as well as sustainability for music festivals and live events as part of the ADE Green conference.
